Production Log Week 2

This week Monique and I had been creating our own parts of the script for our music video and on the 27/01/15 we both completed our sides and put it onto one document on excel and from there discussed and changes that were needed to be made in order to produce a good music video. Once the script had been created I showed Miss Lowndes and she helped me ensure that it was done to a good standard by going through the shots with me and helping me expand of a few ideas such as cross fading between the two artist face to show the artist when they were younger starting life. There were no problems that came up due to the fact that we both finished the music video script around the same time so that the it could be put together quicker so that the length of time we have to film will increase. The image below shows two parts of the shooting script source 1 being the intro and source 2 being the outro/ending the other sources being source 3 and source 4 show a variety of locations throughout the music video. We also added more locations such as alleyways, graffiti art in parks, car parks and a church these new locations are all based in Romford. The colours show the codes for different locations for example light blue meaning underpass and the purple being the studio .the colours help with the organisation of where each other shots will be filmed.

Production log week 1

This week I have sorted out who i'm working with for my music video and that is Monique and we had a Q&A recorded on the idea we chose and why it was that idea and song. The song that Monique and I decided to go for was hers because the ideas spoke about enabled us to further the ideas as we both had an equal amount of input such as making the time speed as the artist is walking down the road to show time passing whilst the artist is still in their own world. We also started some of our scripting for the shots we will be taking and writing down what will happen in each section of the song (the versus, chorus and outro). Mine and Monique's production schedule will work good as the filming dates are around the same time where the hours were flexible after school and the job role changing wasn't a big fuss as she is the director of her own music video so I had no problem with it and this helps fit in with the overall project. Together Monique and I had no problems to overcome. The plans for the following week is for me to complete my 50+ shots on the script needed to be created in order to give Monique and I a  guideline for how the music video will be shot and where they will take place and a way of transportation. The image below shows what questions was needed to be answered in mine and Monique's q&a that was recorded and put on to YouTube. The shots were decided by me and Monique as she done the first half of the song aiming for 50+ shots and I had to do the same in order for us to complete the whole music video which will be shot in a variety of locations such as a church in Romford, a church, car park and romford market.

99DollarMusicVideos

What is 99dollarmusicvideos.com?
99dollarmusicvideos.com is a website that  allows unsigned and up coming artists to release song or music videos so they can try to get noticed by a record label to allow their music video and song budget to increase and this will allow the artist to gain a bigger audience and become well known.

what is their ethos?
99dollarmusicvideos.com's ethos is to let people to produce music videos and allowing the music video to become global so the artists that are unsigned and up coming can get noticed bringing artist and filmmakers to create a music video within 24 hours.

What types, labels and genres of music appear on their YouTube channel?
The main types of labels and genres that appear on the website are rock and indie based. There are no labels as the artist are from the website and are independently based trying to promote their song.

What is the relationship between 99dollarmusicvideos.com, their film makers and music acts?
The ideas need an equal amount of input from the given feedback and participation. The website explains they have a good relationship with the artist and fimlmakers they collaborate with.

How does 99dollarmusicvideos.com encourage audience participation?
99dolllarmusicvideos.com encourage audience participation through promoting their website and YouTube channel. This also shows the audience that people can make a music video that doesn't cost a lot of money but still looks good.

Is it possible to make a professional music video for 99$?
I believe that it is possible to make a music video for 99$ only if the money is invested right into good equipment and actors to help get the best out of the low budget. This music video has a professional side to it as the location varies and not many people would automatically think it was a £62 music video created by an unsigned artist/band.

Analysis of the lyrics.

Target Audience-
The target audience aimed at teenagers to get across his idea of life aimed at both males and females. The locations used in the music video are under bridges and underground areas with graffiti.

Analysis of the lyrics-
The has explicit language in the song we can see from when he says
Blackaveli on the rise n****s are vex I can see it in your eyes
The lyrics explain the artist ideas on his life so far and what he thinks of the government and he says F**k Tony Blair he's a liar and this fore-shows how he thinks the government is and how he thinks the system is ran by them.

Analysis of the music-
The genre of the song is hip hop/rap and this type of music is featured on SBTV and on grime daily as other songs produced by the artist are grime as well as hip hop/ rap.

Tempo of the song-
The tempo of the song is medium paced as the drum beat gives that away when listening to the song.

Communication with the song-
The song is of Black the ripper explaining where he is from and his life. I would visually communicate with the song in seeing Black The Ripper talking about his views on life and the government shown at
I didn't know he could do that
Militant mind state modern day 2pac
Government hate me young black crazy
The artist also says where he came from and where he keeps his weed.
Edmonton all day is where I fucking rest dat

Artist Label- Black Magic Entertainment
Song- Get back
Facts- black male from Edmonton born on 28 December 1987, he is a grime artist who features on grime daily and sbtv. He likes to express himself thorugh his lyrics in his songs.

Clothing- jeans, hoodie, denim coat, black trainers - my artist would wear these clothes as they represent the era of rap and the song is quite dark so i used black trainers and dark jeans to represent this element.

Typography- writing,

Colours- black, red, silver. - i decided to use these type of colours as they would represent a lonely person, and the dark dull colours so depression.

Imagery- drugs, weed ,drug dealing

Person id have play the artist- I would have Abdel play my artist due to his characteristics, gender and dress code. He looks and suits the of a rapper to suit the way of the music video.
