https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=95m6u4hXZTM - skepta gingerbread man - i chose this song becuase i liked the beat and tempo as it has a nice flow that goes along with the lyrics.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e1RF8gOtU6U - black the ripper get back - i liked how the lyrics go with the song and the meaning of the song.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s7tKPPsXawA - i liked this song as it had a nice house groove to it and the up tempo beat and pace of the song is enjoyable.
Unfortunately I did not receive a reply from the artist to use the music video however this will result in me looking in creative commons for a song to create a music video for.

Goodwin's Ideas About Music Video's

Contradicting - This is when the music video deliberately goes against the lyrics and mood of the song. This music video implies a happy meaning and we can see this through the actions of the main singer at 1:11 . This music video is fast pace however the lyrics of the song are sad and this is contradicting the contrast between how the video is performed and the lyrics.
Iconography - This is when the music video is diverse and complex in terms of the video style. This occurs in Beyonce Blow. At 0:42 there is a close up of Beyonce's face on the screen and this occurs again at 1:28. Near the end of the music video at 5:02 there is a close up of Beyonce's face to see her facial expression.
Voyeurism - This is when the music video makes things look good to give pleasure from watching and enjoying it. An example of this would be Miley Cyrus Wrecking Ball and at 1:56 we can see Miley Cyrus naked and this can give some 'SEXUAL' pleasure to some of her viewers. At 1:45 we can see her laying down in a sexual position which can imply to the audience that she wants to give the male viewers sexual pleasure and this occurs again at 1:53 when there is a mid shot of the top half of her body mostly focused on her boobs.
Intertextuality - This is when one media text refers to another media text. This music video contains scenes from Fast And Furious, this shows how the intertextuality takes place. This occurs at time code 0:07 and this is included in the music video to make it look more interesting. This music video gives the audience an understand of the film as it connects with the song and the different scenes from Fast And Furious.

Styles Of Music Video
This music video Hustlin by Rick Ross consists of Rick Ross living the "GANGSTER" like life as he has a lot of money shown at 01:00, gold chains at 01;06 and women shown in 0:21 to his name and gangs shown at 2:05 this can give him a bad image due to the fact it looks to the viewers that he using women as toys. The black ethnic groups with gold chains signalize that this music video is a rap video. The audience can dislike Rick Ross for the way he portrays women in this music video. This is an example of the institution representing Rick Ross for who is he and how he acts however this can not be such a good impact as some of the audience may think he is corrupting young children. This music video can be portraying Rick Ross in a bad way but this may be how he wants the audience and public to view and judge him.
Genre subverting
This music video illustrates Bart Baker imitating Taylor Swift Shake it off. This music video takes the mick out of the original by Taylor Swift. The beginning is an imitation of Taylor Swift shown at 0:05 this also occurs in the original song by Taylor Swift at 0:05 this can impact the audience in a good way as a laugh due to Bart Baker taking the mick and this can also be good for the institution as this can become viral and well known to the public however this can get given a negative review and impact the audience in a negative way as Taylor Swift and other fans of hers may find this disrespectful and rude towards her music video as an imitation has been made by a man who also changes the lyrics to make the music video sound and look funnier than the original this is show in Bart bakers version at 2:01.
Referencing
This music video contains scenes from Fast And Furious, this shows how the artist and music video is referencing the film. This occurs at time code 0:07 and this is included in the music video to make it look more interesting as the lyrics to the song go with the footage from Fast And Furious. At time code 1:32 occurs in the film and music video. The institution can use this footage from the film to show an understanding of the film. This music video is also like an extra trailer with loads of different scenes and it end with when the next Fast And Furious come at shown at 2:32. This music video gives the audience an understand of the film as it connects with the song and the different scenes from Fast And Furious can interest the viewers more as the film is very popular and with scenes form it can give the institution a benefit for the number of views it would get.
This music video contains pastiche and this is when the music video directly copies scenes from another media text in this case Lil Wayne has copied scenes from the film inception. At 0:15 in the music video this is an exact copy of inception when Leonardo DiCaprio falls into the bath to wake him up from the dream and this moment occurs in the film at 3:23. These scenes both occur at the beginning of the music video and Lil Wayne copy is identical to the original. This can be good for the institution as it shows that Lil Wayne has liked the film enough to use ideas from it in his music video to show similarity to make his music video more interesting. This could also occur to other in their eyes that Lil Wayne is 'dissing' the video in his own indirect way however this can lead to his reputation in the music industry to go down.
Animation
Surreal/Abstract
Performance
This music video shows a performance illustrated from how Chris Brown performs in the song New Flame this is seen in the music video. This music video consists of Chris Brown dancing in the music video performing directly to the camera. At 0:10 we can see Chris Brown performing directly to the camera shown in his eyes contact and body expressions. At 0:40-1:00 you can see Chris Brown dancing and performing the song with his voice. This music video contains a variety of different locations which can interest the audience and this can positively impact the institution if the audience like it and the artist will get known for the work done in the music video. This music video is good for the institution as they used an artist that is well known to the public and this can benefit them.
Impressionist
An impressionist music video is when the artist and lyrics suit the mood of the song this can also make the audience feel a certain way as the video relates to the lyrics. This music video Let Me Love You by Mario. This music video is not at a fast pace so this allows the audience to keep up with what is happening and understand it. In this video Mario is singing about a women who he loves and this is good for the institution as they can impact the audience in feeling a certain way to connect with the artist. As we can see at 4:15 this could make some of the audience connect with him at this point. This can impose a positive impact for the audience due to a possible connection through the music video.
Interpretive
An interpretive music such as Katy Perry Fireworks shows the actions to the song, like when Katy Perry says 'Fireworks' we can see fireworks coming out from her heart shown at 1:02. This is good for the institution to have music video match the lyrics because the audience can gain a better understanding of the music video. This music video can leave the audience skeptical about Katy Perry's music video and this is because they may find it too colorful and not so realistic for fireworks to come out of someones heart at 1:11 or may not like the music video however others may think the work done in the music video is creative and may like it for example 3:22. The audience n have different views on the music video and not all will have a positive effect for the institution or the artist.
Narrative
A narrative video such as Omarion I'm Tryna tells a story and this occurs in the music video and we can see this through the music video has been performed so to the audience it comes across as a story. This tells the story of Omarion loosing his girlfriend as he is not focused on her this occurs at 2:07. This can give the audience an idea for the sort of man Omarion is. At 2:36 the audience can feel and gain an understanding that Omarion is upset. This narrative music video is good for the institution as it can give people a small story line to catch onto and also a representation of the artist Omarion himself, this can be good for the artist also as he is giving an image of himself for how he wants the public to view him.
Good & Bad Techniques
Having lots of cuts:
A good example of a music video that has lots of cuts is The Break Up Song by Wale. Due to the high number of cuts this will interest the viewer more and show what is happening overtime in the music video, the cuts in this music video help show the relationship over a period of time and this creates the idea of a story in the music video which can get the music video a lot of views. At 0:38 this shows Wale's girlfriend at a young age with two dolls dressed for a wedding hoping she can find the right man and then at 0:56 we see her again at an older age due to the cuts has shown that time has passed and at the end of the music video this it shows where her dream doesn't come true between the girl and Wale.
An example of a music video that doesn't have many cuts would be Beyonce Dance For You. As this music video doesn't have many cuts it would tend to bore the viewer. At 1:00 this is shows a shot of Beyonce's face and it stays on that shot for around 3 seconds. Due to the song not having many cuts this makes the music video not so interesting and quite boring as the location stays the same throughout the whole music video and all the shots are from in one room this is a bad example of a lot of cuts also as most cuts last for about 3-4 seconds or longer instead off having more cuts to interest the viewer or make the video seem more interesting. At... just shows some normal cuts to show the audience her different actions and expressions in the music video.
Special Effects:
A good example of special effects in a music video would be ET by Katy Perry, the special effects make the music video not just appeal more but adds interest and helps get its point across. The visual graphics in this music video are done to a very good standard and the editing effects go well with the graphics and set alterations. This music video Leah Greenblatt of entertainment weekly has said Katy Perry's song showed good strength not just in the vocal but creativity. The special effects in this music video are beyond most that are out there. At 1:40 we can see the special effects on Katy Perry's face and ... we can see a effect of ET the alien also a green screen to show where they are at 2:45 .
A bad example of a special effects is Peter Gabriel Steam. This music video uses a bad example of a green screen and this is because of the effects and how it would appeal to the audience and at .... we can see how the green screen background looks. The special effects in this music video are not so good and we can see this at 0:56. The effects in this music video are not good as we can see from 1:20 .
Cutting to the beat:
This music video cuts to the beat and this is good as it can interest the viewers more through creativity this music video is Willow Smith Whip My Hair. This music video has cutting to the beat on nearly all 4 beats of the song and this is good at is shows creativity and can gain more viewers and fans for the artist. Cutting to the beat makes the music video look more interesting. This music video appeals to the younger children as the cuts will allow them to be excited from this at 2:45 we can see that Willow Smith is in one location then at a different location in the school corridors at 1:35 singing the song. This music video can interest the viewers more as cutting to the beat can look good in music videos.
This music video is not a good example for the music video cutting to the beat the music video is Alicia Keys No-One. This music video does not cut to the beat it only has some cuts but the cuts to the beat are not constant. The cuts in this music video are simple transition cuts and this can be boring as it may seem that Alicia Keys is not very creative when doing music videos and this can also make it seem very plain and ordinary. The shots in this music video do not change much as this may be what the artist had no intended. From ... we can see the music video is more or less performed on stage so there will not be many cuts to make the music video as appealing as it could be.
Lip syncing:
This music video Usher Confession Part 2 is a good example of lip syncing as Usher lips syncs the words to his song and isn't him directly singing in them music video. This music video shows Usher lip syncing well as his lips "directly" match the lyrics and seems to be like he is singing at the camera. In this music video at 1:00 to 1:20 we can see that Usher's lips are moving in synchronise time with the song this can make the audience believe he is singing the song there and then whilst he is acting out his emotions at the same time shown at 3:10 this music video shows better lip syncing than other ones that do not appeal much to the audience.
This is a bad example of bad lip syncing in the music video called Don't Phunk With My Heart Black Eyed Peas. The artist words do not entirely match the lyrics of the song at times they are out of sync. The lip syncing at 2:01 is not the best and we can see this when their lips are moving however their lips are not in time with the lyrics of the song.
Varied Camera Language:
This music video has good vary camera language and it is Beyonce 7/11. This music video has exquisite camera language as there is loads of cuts, jump cuts and cutting to the beat. This music video consist of different camera language. This music video contains a very high number of cuts and this also shows time passing through the music video as at 0:45 Beyonce is standing up then the music video jump cuts to .... seeing her spinning on the chair and there a several jump cuts in this video. At 2:01 we can see Beyonce on the balcony then 2:50 cuts to Beyonce inside moving her bum cheeks up and down, this music video look very creative and can attract a large audience form different ages as it is very appealing to the eye and as an artist to the audience.
This music video Chris Brown No Air is a bad example of varied camera language. This only contains simple cuts and it not the best of music video to appeal to the audience there's only some good camera language that has been varied at 1:10 and 0:56 to show the relationship between the artists. This shows that some camera language has been varied.
Green Screen:
This music video Beyonce Sweet Dreams uses a green screen and this is a good example as it suits the song is done to good quality. In this music video the green screen matches the song and would appeal to the target audience as they may find it fascinating. This green screen will also help the audience gain an understanding of where the video is based and Beyonce has based this music video in another planet and we can clearly see this illustrated at 2:00 .
This music video Groove in the stars is a bad example of a green screen in a music video. The green screen in this music video will not appeal very much to the audience and this is due to how it will appeal to the target audience and public, this can be bad for the artists as the green screen is not very good and indicating the music video to not be so good. The green screen at 1:00 is not good and we can gather that the quality of the green screen is not good.

Music video purposes
Extended the Play ability- Chris Brown released a music video followed by his song New Flame this music video became very popular and viral throughout the music industry which had helped Chris Brown become well known in the music industry. The music video had helped Chris Brown get more money and the record label from the amount of views on YouTube and the high number of purchases. This music video got a high number of views on YouTube. As this song became very viral Chris Brown was known more for releasing a very catchy famous song placed 27th on the billboard 100 and is top in the US for R&/ Hip Hop. This placed Chris Brown in a very supportive financial situation from the music video and song due to its popularity over the world, the money he got form them music video was good however due to the explicit language from Rick Ross this could have not helped Chris Brown make as much money from his music video however for the suited target audience he did make money out of it helping the record label as well as himself. The song is still recognized even when its prime of playing has been reached cause it will still be able to be viewed. This music video became very viral once it was released as a lot of the public liked it throughout the world.
Art- This music video Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Can See them by Busta Rhymes. This music video is art and weird at the same time. This is a benefit to the record label as more people would become interested in the music video and this could help it become more viral and popular. This music video is about Busta Rhymes going back to the Egyptian times. This can help the record label become noticed for the work they have done which is also a benefit on the artist, this can also help represent the artist for who they are as a person if they are expressing themselves. The audience can gain an understanding of the artist and they music video and the characters from the video will also keep people interested. The meaning of the video will be vague so it will give the audience a reason to be interested so that they will then be able to find out the meaning or the meaning may be enigmatic. Music Video Outlets
The social media is a network to socialise such as Facebook and Twitter. On Facebook you can share and post music videos that will become visible to the public. This will enable the people to find the target audience the music video was aimed at. An example of this would be if someone had uploaded or shared a video via You Tube to there Facebook or Twitter account for people to view and the video would become more viral to the audience t was aimed at. The important thing is that they have multiple outlets so that the music video can reach the audience of the artist choice however if there was only one outlet the music video wouldn't be as viral as it would be if there was more than one outlet for consumers to view. From the artist uploading videos onto there Facebook or Twitter will allow view to also share and view the video created for the audience an example of this would be if Chris Brown posted his music video to New Flame on his Facebook people would be able to get it off of there to share. The artist will become more popular and well known in the music industry for this increasing the recognition and popularity of the record label. A negative towards this approach would be if the consumers to not have access to social media sites so this shows that it wouldn't reach it's target audience and others on Facebook or Twitter may think that the music video is being viewed too much and another face will be that some people may not even like the music video or the artist who has created the video for the public. The social media sites help people stay up to date with the artist, to help bring them up in regards to popularity to the target audience and the public. The music video will be easier to access as you wont have to search it up because someone would have shared it for you and other to see. A negative side to this would be if you wouldn't want to see the music video on your Facebook or Twitter time line.
Mainstream TV

Music Channel

Music channels play different genres of music on different music channels for the public to watch. There are different music channels such as channel AKA, MTV hits and MTV base, the music channel outlet specialise in different genre types. These music channels help make the artist music video more popular and become more viral to the public as they will be able to view it for free due to the channel. This leads to the music video becoming more recognised to the audience as the artist and institution will get credit for this. The institution will get a profit for this as the music channels are paying the the record label to put the music videos onto their channel for the audience to view. Jessie J bang bang is a song that is very popular and familiar to the public and this is due to the amount of music channel outlets is has been played on for example MTV. These different music channel outlets give the artists more recognition to the public and help them become more viral. The positive side to this is that the public will have free access to the video and it will stream to them clearly with no buffering problems and the target audience will be able to view the music video however the negative side to this is that the adverts can interrupt the video and the music wont be on demand for the audience to watch. Some of the music video affiliate with drugs and with explicit language which some of the public may not like and also the words can get censored, this can lead to a loss in money for the record label and the artist and can give them a bad reputation in the music industry and to the public and target audience as they may not like it and others may not be able to view it if they don't have those channels. The artist and record label get money from the music channels paying them for the music video to be shown on there channel for the public to view. The audience can also record the channels streaming the video which is a positive and you don't get a virus from the channel if the music video is being streamed. The record label will gain a success through a wide a gain in a wider audience as the sing will become more viral and spread through and from people also the target audience watching these music channel outlets, you also have a choice whether you want to watch that music channel as there are many to contain different genres of music for the public. The artist music video may not be played as often on the channel because they- the record label are not in charge of the order of the songs being played and also what songs will be played.

Streaming Websites

Artists Websites
The artist websites are websites exclusive and all about the artist for example http://www.beyonce.com/ << that is Beyonces website that is exclusive to her and the same goes for Tinchy Stryder >> http://tinchystryder.com/

These websites help and allow the public to stay up to date and purchase the merchandise created by the artist to help support them in the career they are going along. The artists websites are owned by them and the manager. For the audience they can watch the original video as often as they want as the artist websites are easy to use and navigate around to find information and music videos based on that specific artist this is a good thing for the public which can also help make the website more viral to others. Sometimes the music video may be only exclusive to the artist and may not be able to seen seen or shared it is is purchased and this can lead to a loss of money and the video wont reach the target audience if they do not have the money to pay for the music video to support the artist also some artist websites are age and safe search restricted due the explicit stuff that is on the page and in some cases the nudity in the music video which some of the viewers may not want to see artists private parts. The institution can make a lot of money from selling the music video and creating merchandise to sell to help support the artist in the career. Information is on the websites about the artist background and how they started their career which will get people more interested. A negative side to the artist website is that some of the sites are hard to get a hold of and they would get shut down due to the music video and some of the review about it. The artists websites are also time consuming for people to use as most of their time could be spent reading the information on the artist not watching the music videos.
